Abstract

Inter-citation by the historical documents is the important basis and evidence to make an analysis of citations.The analysis of citation is a statistical method to reveal the characteristics of the quantity and law of the citations cited by documents.The author of this article makes an analysis of the citations cited by Journal of Academic Library and Information Science from 1998 to 2004,points out the quantities,the types,languages,themes,sources of the citations and the relevant journals which carry the citations,and raises some related problems needing paying attention to.
