Semen quality of male infertile outpatients of our hospital in recent five years

Objectives:To analyse changing trend of the semen quality of male infertile outpatients of our hospital in recent five years.Methods:After collecting the semen quality of 35058 male infertile outpatients,a statistical analysis was conducted to evaluate the changing trend of semen quality.Results:The age of male infertile outpatients basically remains unchanged.50% of them are among 25-35 years old.The percentage of azoospermia,oligospermia,asthenozoospermia and oligoasthenozoospermia increases from 6% to 10%,from 60% to 85%,from 78% to 92% and from 40% to 56% respectively.Asthenozoospermia group have the largest percentage.Sperm concentration decrease from 17×106/mL to 9×106/mL as age increase.Sperm motility,and vitality decrease from 47.27% to 32.97%,and from33.60% to 28.30% respectively for the year from 2004 to 2008.Conclusion:The age of male infertility outpatients in our hospital focused on 30 year old.Azoospermia,oligospermia,asthenozoospermia and oligoasthenozoospermia groups all have increased.Sperm concentration,sperm motility,vitality all have dropped in recent 5 years.
