Abstract

Objective To study the efficacy and safety for application of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy for ureteral calculi with renal colic. Methods 56 cases of patients with ureteral calculi and renal colic emergency from February 2009 to March 2011 were treated in the hospital and chosen as the research object, and set it as the observation group.Selected 56 cases of non-emergency patients with ureteral calculi with renal colic treated at the same period as the control group. Two groups of patients were treated with ultrasound machine for extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy Lithotripsy. The one-time success rate and one week stone gravel drain rate for the two groups were compared.Evaluated comprehensively the clinical effects of ureteral calculi with renal colic when the line of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy. Results The one-time gravel ESWL success rate was 94.6%,the rate for a week to make stone free was 98.2%.The success rate of ESWL for the control group was 66.1%.The rate for gravel once a week to make stone free was 62.5%.The clinical efficacy of the observation group was better than the control group.Compared the two groups, the difference was significant(P0.05).There was statistically significant. Conclusions Ureteral calculi with renal colic underwent emergency extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, can effectively improve the stone free rate and decrease the net hydronephrosis and occurrence of other complications.
