Abstract
The implementation of 8 times emergent water delivering began in 2000.This project has produced a certain role in the recoverying the main Populus euphratica of the hungriness riverside forest.In order to quantitatively evaluate P.euphratica response to human water transmission,the method of combining macro surveying and classical research was applied,taking the P.euphratica forest in the Arghan section on the lower reaches of Tarim River as long-term monitoring plots.The tree height and distribution characteristics are analyzed and researched.The results showed that distrbution of P.euphratica of diferent tree height groups has a certain regularity;the number of P.euphratica decreases when the distance from the river increases;especially there is a significant role in regeneration of seedlings in the 50 m from the river bank.
