Abstract

Objective To learn the content of Microcystin(MC) in source and tap water from waterworks around a lake in a nearly year. Methods Water samples were collected from seven waterworks in April,August,November and next January respectively.MC was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results MC was determined in the source water from all waterworks, and the concentrations ranged from 54 to 1 865ng/L .The content of MC in source water was higher in August than other months. In SY waterworks, the concentration of MC source water was above 50ng/L throughout the year.Low concentrations of MC(from 92 to 132ng/L) were also detected in the tap water from DG,JZ waterworks. Conclusion The MC pollution in source water was mainly in Summer and MC could be completely removed by adding bleaching powder treatment.
