Abstract
Many factors affect the anthocyanin biosynthesis, and the different expression levels of structural and regulatory genes may lead to the different accumulation of anthocyanin pigments. The temporal and spatial expressions of anthocyanin associated genes were studied with semi-real-time PCR(RT-PCR) technique. It showed that the OsPAL,OsCHS and OsCHI genes were expressed in the leaves, stems, flowers and the seeds of 1-2 weeks after flowering,so they were the basic genes involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis.OsF3H,OsF3'H and OsDFR genes were expressed in the leaves, flowers and the seeds of 1-2 weeks after flowering, but they didn't express in the stems. In the seeds of 1-2 weeks after flowering, their expression levels were increased with seed development.OsANS was expressed slightly in the leaves of black-grain rice and purple-leaf rice, but its expression increased in the seeds of 1-2 weeks after flowering of black-grain rice.OsB1 and OsB2 were uniquely expressed in the leaves of purple-leaf rice, whereas OsC1 was specially expressed in the panicle at flowering stage. All these results suggested that the accumulation of anthocyanin was controlled by many genes, which had temporal and spatial expression specificities.
