A Comparative Study on Choice of Regional Economic Advantage Industry and Leading Industry——Take the Manufacturing Industry in Chongqing as an Example

Based on perspective of advantageous evolution, a theoretical analysis is taken on concepts of regional-economic advantageous industry and leading industry. In order to select advantageous industry in Chongqing, benchmarks are established,as market potential, industrial organization, and technological level. At same time, benchmarks are established, as growth rate, technical progress rate and industry relevance, which are for selecting leading industry in Chongqing. With comparative analysis, there are some overlapped parts between regional-economic advantageous industries and leading industries, called the Leading and Advantage Industry. On basis of regional exogenous comparative advantage, local governments should focus on comprehensive cultivation of endogenous comparative advantage on the Leading and Advantage Industry, and prompt them into a competitive advantage, in order to achieve regional economic development by leaps and bounds.
