Correlation between optic disc parameters of HRT-II and visual field defects in primary open angle glaucoma

Abstract

【Objective】To study primary open-angle glaucoma method of early diagnosis by researching the correlation between primary open-angle glaucoma optic disc parameters and visual field mean defect (Mean defect,MD).【Methods】Heidelberg retina with laser scanner (HRT-Ⅱ) and automatic perimetry determination of 110 cases (147 eyes) with primary open-angle glaucoma using linear correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis of the optic disc parameters and visual field mean defect correlation.【Results】Primary open-angle glaucoma rim area was significantly correlated with the MD.It showed an increasing of 7.933dB in MD with each 1 mm2 decrease in absolute value rim area.Quadrant area of the disk along the anomalies,the temporal zone rim area along the most obvious area of narrowing.【Conclusion】In all of the optic disc parameters of HRT-Ⅱ,rim area can well reflect the glaucomatous visual field loss best.Quadrant area of the disk along the anomalies,the subtemporal zone rim area along the most obvious area of narrowing.
