Abstract
Objective To summarize the effect and result of microvascular decompression(MVD) on hemifacial spasm.Methods MVD was performed in 46 patients with hemifacial spasm and the clinical symptoms,operative techniques and curative effect were investigated.Results Of the 46 cases,41 cases were spasm-free immediately after surgery,4 cases got delayed resolution after 1 or 2 weeks,1 case was suffered effectless.The total complications were 8.7%.Conclusion Microvascular decompression is an effective procedure to treat hemifacial spasm in neurosurgery.
