Abstract

With the research object as the labyrinth seal of the Transmission gear box for a certain type of High-power locomotives,Two-dimensional structured grid model of the interlocking labyrinth channel was set up by means of GAMBIT software in this paper.By applying Fluent software,the flow field and leakage characteristics within labyrinth seal was simulated,and the influence of rotational speed,pressure ratio and dimension of cavity on labyrinth seal performance was analyzed.The simulation results indicate that the leakage of labyrinth seal increases with the increase of pressure ratio;The rotational speed plays a small role on sealing effectiveness;and the dimension of cavity have great impact on leakage.
