Abstract

Objective To investigate the test-retest reliability of the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) in Chinese patients with knee osteoarthritis. Methods 24 patients with radiological diagnosis and clinical symptoms of knee osteoarthritis were evaluated with the WOMAC twice by two staff who pass by the WOMAC formal training within 24 h.Results The intraclass correlation coefficients of the 3 dimensions of pain, stiffness, physical function of the WOMAC and the total were 0.937,0.914,0.856,0.921,respectively.Conclusion The Chinese version of WOMAC can be used in Chinese patients with knee osteoarthritis with high test-retest reliability.
