Expression of MGMT in hepatocellular carcinoma and their clinical significance

Abstract
To study the expression and relationship between the expression and clinical pathological characterization of MGMT in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). Detect the expression of MGMT in cancer tissue of 37 HCC patients by SABC immunohistochemistry. The positive ratio of MGMT in center tissue of HCC was 18/37(48.7%), (2.24±1.77), which was lower obviously than that of paracarcinoma tissue 31/37(83.8%), (3.38±1.32) and normal liver tissue 15/17(88.2%), (3.94±1.66) (P 0.01); The expression of MGMT was associated with differentiation degree of HCC, but they were not associated with other clinical pathological characterization. [Conclusion] MGMT is important in restraining the occurrence and development of hepatocellular carcinoma. The expression of MGMT is maybe associated with the prognosis of HCC, but the advanced study will be needed.
