Abstract
The numerical classification and ordination of forest community in Kanas tourist district,Xinjiang were studied using two-way indicator species analysis(TWINSPAN)and detrended correspondence analysis(DCA).The results indicated: ①The forest communities were classified into 9 types by the method of TWINSPAN;②The relationship among the forest communities and the relationship between the forest communities and the environment can be explained clearly by TWINSPAN and DCA;③The humidity was gradually increasing on the first axis of DCA from left to right,and the temperature was gradually reducing on the second axis from bottom to top.The altitude was gradually increasing along the diagonal direction.All these results show that the main factors restricting types of forest communities and distribution of the plant species were altitude,humidity and temperature in this district.
