Abstract
Ultraviolet radiation may result in skin changes, such as erythema, photoaging. Ultraviolet not only causes dermal damages by changing cytokine secretion and gene expression of human skin fibroblasts, but also is used to treat some diseases such as localized scleroderma. This paper expounds the effects of ultraviolet on human skin fibroblasts, emphasizes on the damages of ultraviolet to fibroblasts, the defense of fibroblasts against ultraviolet and the application of ultraviolet in certain dermal diseases.
