Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To analyze the chemical components of volatile oil from Helicteres angustifolia by GC-MS.METHODS:The volatile oil was extracted from H.angustifolia by steam distillation. The chemical components of volatile oil were identified by GC-MS,the content of chemical components from volatile oil were determined by normalization method.RESULTS:There were 81 chemical components, accounting for 76.52% of total volatile oil.Main chemical components were monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes and their oxygenated derivatives and aliphatic compounds.CONCLUSION:The methods are reliable, stable and good repeatability. The methods can be applied to the analysis of chemical components of volatile oil from traditional Chinese medicine.
