The Progress of mtDNA in Domestic Animals

Study on mitochondrial DNA diversity is very important for people to understand the domestication history of domestic animals.This paper summarizes the newest advancement of mtDNA diversity on domestic pig,cattle,buffalo,horse,donkey,sheep,goat and chicken.The evidence of mtDNA diversity indicated that domestic animals were domesticated from wild populations multiple times with probably multiple domestication sites,showing the complicated domestication history of domestic animals.
