Somatotype Research on the Urban Adult of Han Nationality by Heath-Carter Anthropometry in the West of Liaoning Province

Objective To analyze the somatotype of the urban adult of Han nationality in the west of Liaoning Province and compensate the essential data for the anthropological studies.Methods A total of 496 subjects(243 males and 253 females) of Han of Jinzhou aged 20 to 82 are somatotyped by Heath-Carter anthropometry.Results The mean somatotype for male is 5.7-3.3-2.1,for female is 7.0-3.0-1.7.Male and female are both in Mesomorphy-Endomorphy.By test,significant sexual difference is found in 20～24,25～29 and 55～aged.The urban adult males and females of Han's Endomorphy and Mesomorphy increase while Ectomorphy decrease with age.Compared with six other nationalities,significant difference is found between urban adult somatotype of Han in the west of Liaoning Province and other nationalities.Conclusions The body fat of urban male and female in the west of Liaoning Province is more,skeleton and muscles is middle strong,and the figure is not slim.
