Abstract
The pathogenic mechanisms involved in viral hepatitis are not completely understood so far.A number of evidences suggest that the pathology associated with hepatitis B virus(HBV)and hepatitis C virus(HCV)infections is a result of the immune response in the liver to these viruses.B1 cells are newly found an important B-cell subgroup, which play a unique and vital innate-like immunizing role in host defense to hepatitis virus.Recent studies have demonstrated that CD5 cell is a distinctive molecular mark. Some results indicate that chronic HBV infection may actually elevate CD5 +B1 cell in peripheral blood, which directly lead to the chronicity of viral hepatitis B in host immune defense.CD5 +B1 cells are mainly reported to take part in HCV infection by cross-talking between CD81 and CD5.
