Abstract
Objective
To evaluate the effectiveness of cyclophosphamide pulse therapy in combination with small dose of corticosteroid for the treatment of lupus nephritis
Methods
Thirty four patients with lupus nephritis were treated by cyclophosphamide pulse therapy in combination with small dose of corticosteroid,compared with 25 cases of lupus nephritis treated by conventional corticosteroid therapy
Results
The combination therapy had better results than those of conventional corticosteroid therapy,including the improvement of the clinical manifestations,immunological indexes,renal functions,decreasing of incidence of renal failure and the frequency of side effects
Conclusion
Combination therapy has a better effectiveness in treating lupus nephritis.
