Abstract

In the transformation of Chinese economy from planned economy to socialist market economy, due to lack of appropriate and timely instructions, some people misunderstand the essence of socialist market economy, and unilaterally hold such an opinion that pursuing the maximum of benefit (profit) for an economic entity is the only objective, overlooking other aspects as well. Although maximizing profit is unblamable and is a basic rule in the market economy, only by combining business ethnics into consideration, can an economic entity find living space, get approved of by the society, and, further, remain invincible in competition. From the above point of view, the inevitability and importance of the existence of business ethics are addressed in this paper in the aspects of economy, society and enterprise management respectively.
