Abstract
Objective To discuss the function of phenobarbital in preventing the recrudescence of febrile seizure. Methods To cure the children who had one suffered from febrile seizure and with a temperature over 37.5℃ agian, phenobarbital was used to prevent them from febrile seizure(3~5 mg/kg each day) in the treating group, while not used in the control group. Results Compared the results of these two treatments that have lasted for one or five years, febrile seizure recrudesced only two(3.33%)in the treating group, but the rate of recrudescence in the treatment of the control group was 36.54%.Conclusion Phenobarbital may prevent the recrudescence of febrile seizure.
