Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of obstructive jaundice on small intestinal function in rats.Methods 80 female SD rats were randomly divided into two groups,including the model group(ligation of the bile duct) and control group(sham-operation).In both groups,the serumlevels of TC,TG and GLU were assayed before and after intmgastric administration of 30% intralipidand 50% glucose.The gut transits were measured in vivo after intragastric administration of blue dextra.Results Compared with control group,the gut transits decreased significantly in model group(P0.05),the serum levels of TG and GLU also decreased significantlyn model group(P0.05).Conclusion Obstructive jaundice has negative effects on the absorption capacity and peristalsis of small intestinal in rats.
