On the Competition Policy in Developing Countries

Competition policy in developing countries is mainly the result of their liberal economic reforms,and also a response to the economic globalization.Despite many similarities,the realities of developing countries make their competition acts bear some characteristics,including plural policy goals,broader competition exceptions and exemptions,and being more lenient towards MA,when compared with that of developed countries.To serve the increase of market efficiency and economic progress better,the goal of competition act should be more clear and definite,and government agencies should have a better understanding about the relations between competition policy and other economic and social policies,pay more attention to outstanding problems lessening competition substantively,and enhance the international cooperation.
