Abstract
The basic structure of 7 200 kV/480 kJ impulse voltage generator used in UHV DC test station of State Grid Corporation of China(SGCC) is presented.The output performance of lightning impulse,standard switching impulse and 500 μs and 1 000 μs long wave front switching impulse voltage were tested.Test results show that the voltage amplitude of lightning impulse reached 6271 kV,the withstand and breakdown voltage amplitude reached 3 844 kV and 4 845 kV respectively.The 7 200 kV/480 kJ impulse voltage generator can satisfy the test requirements for ±800 kV UHV DC and even higher voltage level UHVDC research work.
