Abstract

AIM: Study of the effect of TGF-β 1, TGF-β 2 and TGF-β 3 in the human tooth development. METHODS: SP IHC was used to detect the localization of TGF-β 1, TGF-β 2 and TGF-β 3 protein on human tooth germs sections(16th to 28th gwk). RESULTS: TGF-β 1 and TGF-β 3 mainly expressed in ameloblasts and odontoblasts. TGF-β 2 mainly expressed in inner enamel cells and ameloblasts. TGF-β 1、TGF-β 2 and TGF-β 3 demonstrated positive expression in the enamel knot. CONCLUSION: TGF-β 1、TGF-β 2 and TGF-β 3 are important regulators in the human tooth development. They are involved in tooth germ cytodifferention, promote the secretion of the dentin matrixes, and regulate the tooth morphogeny. [
