On the Evolution of Family Rites in Tang and Song Dynasties

Family rites in Tang and Song dynasties experienced a long process of gradual evolution.In Tang dynasty,family rites mostly followed the ancient tradition,authors writing relevant works in lines with classic old rites;Although Northern Song dynasty also inherited the old etiquette system of the previous dynasty based on Rites,the main theme of the family rite system was to adapt to the new situation at that time.As to Southern Song dynasty,family rites took on a new look,highlighting the principle of changing the old tradition to adapt to new society.
