Abstract
The construction of closure segment is an important step in the construction of prestressed concrete continuous girder bridge and could have direct influences on the stressing conditions and geometry of the overall bridge. With reference to the closure segment construction of the main bridge of a bridge over Huanghe River, this paper studies the selection of time and methods for closure construction, closure sequences, system transformation and construction ballasting for the prestressed concrete continuous girder bridge, and the results of studying provide valuable technical reference to the construction of the similar bridges.
