Abstract
Objective To investigate the changes in blood coagulation after acute normovolemic hemodilution (ANH) with hydroxyethyl starch (HES) .Methods Ten ASAⅠorⅡpatients undergoing elective operation were studied. ANH was performed by removing 10 ml·kg-1 of blood which was replaced by simultaneous infusion of equal volume of HES (130/0.4 Voluven) at the same speed. Blood routine (Hb, Hct, platelets), standard coagulation tests (prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, fibrinogen) and TEG (R,K, alpha angle, MA, A30, A60) were performed before and 15 min after ANH. Results Hb and Hct were significantly decreased after hemodilution. Prothrombin time was significantly prolonged and plasma fibrinogen concentration was significantly reduced after ANH. APTT and TEG variables were not affected after hemodilution. Conclusion There is no significant change in blood coagulation after moderate ANH with HES (130/0. 4 Voluven).
