A prospective non-randomized observational study on the life quality of patients with colorectal cancer of neoadjuvant chemotherapy

Objective To investigate the effect of different neoadjuvant chemotherapy( OLF and LF) on quality of life in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods Patients with colorectal cancer were grouped according to the illness and willingness in the Luozhuang Center Hospital from Mar. 2009 to Dec. 2012 and OLF and LF were adopted respectively neoadjuvant chemotherapy group. The quality of life of QLQC30 core questionnaire before chemotherapy,before operation and after operation were compared. Results Before operation,the total score,the symptoms of nausea and vomiting,economic difficulties in OLF group were significant difference compared with before chemotherapy; the total score,the symptoms of nausea and vomiting were significant difference compared with before chemotheroupy( P 0. 05); after operation,the total score,symptoms score in two groups were significant difference compared with before chemotherapy and operation( P 0. 05). The symptoms of nausea and vomiting before operation,the social function,diarrhea,economic difficulties after operation were significant difference between two groups( P 0. 05). Conclusion Two chemotherapy can improve the quality of life of patients,while OLF chemotherapy is more obvious in functional and symptom improvement for patients.
