Abstract
The rheological characteristics of a new permanent mold coating for magnesium alloys was studied in this paper, and the rheological curve was fitted by the rheological model. The results show the new experimental coating is a yield pseudo plastic fluid with thixotropy. A modified Casson model can fit the rheological curve exactly, and characterize the suspension property and thixotropy of the coating.
