Abstract
Objective To explore the curative effect of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA) on infantile hepatitis syndrome(IHS).Methods Eighty-five IHS children were randomly divided into treatment group [n=45,23 boys and 22 girls, whose average age was 2.35 months, receiving the basic therapies such as liver protection therapy, and so on,and UDCA therapy with 15-25 mg/(kg·d),10-14 days as a course of treatment, and someone for 2-3 courses of treatment] and control group (n=40,21 boys and 19 girls, whose averageage was 2.05 months, only receiving the basic therapies as mentioned above).Total bilirubin(TB),direct bilirubin(DB),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),γ-glutamyltranspeptidase(γ-GT),total bile acid(TBA) of the serum and intraduodenal drain (bile) and liver size were detected before and after the treatment.SPSS 11.0 software was used to analyze the data. Results Compared with control group, the levels of TB,DB,ALT,γ-GT,and TBA in serum of treatment group reduced significantly (Pa0.01),and the liver size reduced obviously (P0.01);while the level of TB,DB and TBA in bile increased significantly (Pa0.01).There was no significant difference in the ALT level of bile between the 2 groups. The side effect of the 2 groups was not obvious. Conclusions UDCA can reduce the levels of serum bilirubin and endogenous bile acid, and promote the excretion of bilirubin and bile acid with cholagogic effect and jaundice elimination.
