Clinical Analysis of Endophthalmitis after Ophthalmologic Operation

Objective To explore the treatment and preventative measures of postoperative endophthalmitis(POE).Methods Clinical data of 4 patients with postoperative endophthalmitis during January 2011 and December 2012 in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed.Results POE occured in 2 eyes of cataract surgery,there were suppurative endophthalmitis and phacoanaphylactic endophthalmitis respectively;POE occurred in 2 eyes of anti-glaucoma surgery,and both were colatus bubble form change of secondary infection in advanced stage.The 3 patients underwent vitrectomy,and postoperative visual acuities improved to various degrees.The other patient received evisceration therapy.Conclusion Postoperative endophthalmitis is a serious complication of ophthalmologic operation.Clinicians should diagnose and treat it as early as possible in order to restore the patients'visual function.
