Abstract
Objective:To discuss the result of all - course three dimensional conformal radiotherapy and late -course accelerated hyperfractionated on esophageal carcinoma. Methods:AD 24 patients were treated with three dimensional conformal radiotherapy,2Gy per day,5 times a week at a total dose of 40Gy over 4 weeks, then followed by late -course accelerated hyperfractionated at a dose of 30Gy over 14 days,1.5Gy per fraction,to the total dose of 70Gy in 30 fractions over 6 weeks.Results:1 -,2 -,3 - year local control rates were 70.8%,62.5%,58.3%;1 -, 2 -,3 - year survival rates were 79.1%,54.2%,41.6%.Conclusion:Three dimensional conformal radiotherapy can be considered as an effective method to improve local control rate and survival rate and decrease the toxicity of normal tissue.
