Research Progress of Land Ecological Security in China

This paper firstly analyzes the connotation of land ecological security and its three categories. Secondly, it summarizes the basic theory about it, which includes man-land relationship theory, sustainable development theory and basic theory of relevant discipline. Thirdly, it reviews the research progress on the four aspects of land ecosystem security and land ecological service value, land ecology assessment, land ecological planning and design and driving forces of land ecological security change. It is pointed out that the study of land ecological security is greatly limited in breadth and depth due to the deficient research on basic theory, dynamic assessment, research framework, the system of monitoring, early-warning and decision-support and the narrowness of researching region and object. To solve the above problems, some measures are proposed including strengthening the study on land ecological discipline, building the framework system for land ecological security, establishing the system of monitoring, early-warning and decision-support for regional land ecological security and strengthening the management for land ecology. Finally, the future developing trend about land ecological security is prospected.
