Abstract
The argument between Zhu Xi and Lu Jiuzhou not only reflects the development line of neo-confucianism,but also promotes the development of neo-confucianism itself.Therefore,it can be used to understand the development trend of neo-confucianism in the early period of the Qing Dynasty. The argument between Zhu Xi and Lu Jiuzhou promotes academically and politically the development of neo-confucianism in the early period of the Qing Dynasty.Academically,it turns pursuing virtue of neo-confucianism into seeking for knowledge,which became the basic development orientation of the Qing Dynasty. Politically,the thinkers in the Qing Dynasty put forward criticism on the political ethic of the Wang school,which influenced deeply the establishment of the ideology of the Qing Dynasty.The early period of the Qing Dynasty witnessed the further development of neo-confucianism.And neo-confucianism developed in the direction of seeking for knowledge.
