Abstract

IP multicast is a rising network technology.IP multicast applications run on the traditional TCP/IP network and can deliver data to multiple receivers simultaneously. It's a new technology for multimedia realtime transmission and bulk data transmission.This paper discusses the IP multicast technology,including the conformation of IP multicast address,Internet Group Management Protocol(IGMP) and IP multicast routing.
