Analysis of Aesthetic Characteristics in the Current Landscape Design

Based on the practical cases of current landscape design,this paper explores the various features of China's contemporary landscape design in terms of aesthetic values. These features are specifically represented as follows: on the one hand,in the context of globalization,China's current landscape design is showing a convergence with western modern landscape in terms of aesthetic values; on the other hand,the influence of China' traditional garden culture is still continuing and constantly being reinterpreted; the aesthetic prototypes in landscape design is gradually expanding from the first nature,to the second nature and the third natural and finally,to the fourth nature; rational and irrational tendencies of aesthetic encoding in landscape design coexist and co- develop side by side; importance is attached to the social functions of landscape and to the design values based on the social perspective.
