Abstract

Objective To observe the clinic effects of nicardipine in the treatment of maintenance hemodialysis(MHD) patients with hypertensive emergency. Methods Thirty-six patients with hypertensive emergency with diastolic blood pressure(DBP) ≥120mmHg or systolic blood pressure(SBP)≥220mmHg,DBP140mmHg were treated by using intravenous nicardipine with 10mg to 200mL 5% glucose or 0.9% sodiun chloride injection. The drop velocity of nicardipine was 0.6~3μg(/kg·min).Results The blood pressure started to fall six minutes after intravenous nicardipine was used and 30 minutes after that, the blood pressure fell by 10%.Conclusion Nicardipine can control hypertensive emergency of MHD patients rapidly, almost with no side effects.
