Abstract

Objective To explore psychological state in patients with functional dyspepsia and the effect of cognitive therapy on them. Methods 50 patients with functional dyspepsia and 50 healthy people were investigated with EPQ and SCL-90 scale. Patients of test group accepted cognitive therapy, 12 weeks after the treatment, Scores of SCL-90 in patients of test group were observed again. Results In analysis of EPQ, the Scores of E in patients with functional dyspepsia were significantly lower than the control group, the Scores of N in test group were significantly higher than the control group; In factors of SCL-90, the scores of somatization﹑forcedness﹑depression﹑anxiety and phobia were significantly higher than the control group, but these factors of test group were more improved after the treatment. At the same time, the functional dyspepsia symptoms were improved. Conclusion There are significant psychological problems in patients with functional dyspepsia, for example unsteady mood, introversive personnality and so on. Cognitive therapy has an obvious therapeutic ef- fect for functional dyspepsia.
