Abstract
It has always been a common way to attack the Internet using the buffer overflow vulnerability,and it does great harm to the information security.How to detect buffer overflow has become a focus of study,and there has emerged a wide variety of solutions.Firstly,this paper divides the existing technologies of buffer overflow attack detection into three categories according to the test subjects,and then analyses the principles,tools,means,advantages and disadvantages of each category's.Finally,the paper summarizes and analyzes the development of buffer overflow attack detection technology nowadays.
