Abstract
With the development of the third generation(3G) mobile communication systems and the release of the emergent 911(E911) call in USA,cellular radio location technology for the mobile station(MS) has been broadly focused more and more.Because the service can provide the position information about MS,the location technology plays an important role in many fields.A 3-dimension location algorithm based on TDOA(time difference of arrival) is proposed.By using a new variable to replace the square term, the nonlinear estimation is transformed into a two-step WLS(weighted least square) linear estimation. This method is simple and save the computation time. Its effectiveness is verified by the simulation.
