Analysis of Outpatient Prescriptions of the Psychotropic Drugs

Abstract

Objective To investigate the outpaitent use of psychotropic drugs in The First Affiliated Hospital of Yat-Sen University for references of rational drug use.Methods The outpatient prescriptions of psychotropic drugs in 2007 in The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-Sen University were collected for a statistical analysis in respect of the variety,DDDs and drug interactions of psychotropic drugs.Results Of the total 35,462 prescriptions reviewed,80.47 % involved use of Benzodiazepines.293 were found to have potential drug interaction.Conclusion Safe and rational use of psychotropic drugs should be emphasized for patients so as to avoid theoccurrence of drug interaction.
