Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the 3D MRA manifestation of collateral vessels after middle cerebral artery occlusion. Methods:The MR angiographic findings were retrospectively analyzed in 75 patients with middle cerebral artery territory infarct, and collateral flow was evaluated.Results:M1-segment middle cerebral artery occlusion was found in all the 75 patients at 3D-TOF MR angiography, and thicking, prolongation and increasing branches of poterioinferioer branch and P4 segment of ipsilateral posterior cerebral artery were found, but the ipsilateral anterior cerebral artery had no significant change. Conclusion:Obvious changes of ipsilateral poterior cerebral artery can be found on MRA after M1-segment middle cerebral artery occlusion, suggesting the compensating blood flow of infarct area mainly comes from the posterior cerebral artery via the leptomeningeal anastomosis.
