Abstract

Stability of the pylon of the stayed-cable bridge, especially of the single-column pylon of the single-cable-plane cable-stayed Bridge, is the outstanding problem because of its large compress. In this paper, the simplified analysis methods of the elastic and plastic stability of the pylon are preferred respectively after its force condition is simplified. Two examples based real bridges are given finally. The result evinces that the methods in the paper are available.
