Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical application of microscrew as anchorage to intrude overerupted maxillary molars. Methods Fifteen adult patients were treated with the use of the microscrew as anchorage in partial or full-mouth fixed appliances.Twenty-five overerupted posterior maxillary teeth were intruded. Results The molars were all intruded successfully, and the occlusal plane was corrected. The duration of treatment for intrusion was ranged from 5 to 18months,on average 10.3 months. Conclusions It was applicable to use the microscrew as anchorage in partial or full-mouth fixed appliances to intrude overerupted maxillary molars.
