Abstract
After more than half a century's trials and tribulations, the European Union(EU) has become an economy with the highest level of regional economic integration in the world, laying a solid foundation for further achieving its ambitions in the 21st century. With the deepening of integration, the EU and its member countries have persisted in the harmonization of technical regulations, continuously revised and perfected the existing regulations, and,in recent years, issued a great number of technical regulations and standards.Relying on its advantage in science and technology, management, and environmental protection, the EU has also enacted and implemented a large number of technical trade measures.Analyzing its technical barriers to trade(TBT),including technical regulations, technical standards and conformity assessment procedures, and summarizing its valuable experience in implementing TBT can offer lessons to building a TBT system in conformity with the international standard in China.
