Abstract

With the rapid development of interventional radiology over the last 20 years,a growing number of patients had benefited from increasing clinical application of interventional radiology.Meanwhile,there was growing concern over radiation dose delivered during interventional procedures,particularly in the increasing frequency and complexity.In non-optimized interventional radiology,skin or lens injuries of patients might be induced and a series of biological effects could be brought to operators due to adequate dose of radiation.Therefore,scientists on radiation protection put their attention to the problems of patient protection.This paper had focused on two issues:radiation doses currently encountered in interventional procedures and consequent risks for operators and patients.
