The impact of seretide combined with tiotropium on lung function of patients with stable COPD

Abstract
Objective To study effect of seretide combined with tiotropium on lung function of patients with stable COPD.Methods Eighty-two patients with moderately severe stable COPD were divided into two groups at random. Patients in control group were given tiotropium and those in observation group were given seretide and tiotropium. The treatment time was 3 months. Blood gas analysis and lung function indexes were compared. Results Before treatment,there were no statistical differences in pH,PaO2,SaO2,FEV1 and FVC between the two groups before treatment. After 3 months' treatment,PaO2,SaO2,FEV1 and FVC in the observation group were higher than those of control group,while PaCO2 was lower than that of control group. Conclusion Seretide combined with tiotropium can improve respiratory ventilation condition,protect pulmonary functions and can be used in clinical treatment.
