Abstract

Hardy's poems with themes of love or death are the most creative and valuable part, which are full of unique life and aesthetic experiences. His poems with theme of love overturn the ideal mode thoroughly, but the essence of those poems expresses the longing and calling for love, which is a kind of return of value and meaning of love. Poems with theme of death express his special view - death is a kind of everlasting rest. His view on death is also the view on being, which can be concluded as enduring spirit.
