Abstract

Reviewed the process and characteristic of sequencing batch reactor (SBR). A reactor operated at time sequence is the main facility of SBR. Due to the simple process, investment and operation cost is low. SBR has high efficiency in organic pollutant removal and clarification even at load fluctuation by the high concentration active sludge. No bulking and nutrient removal are also predominant of SBR. Introduced new processes developed from SBR: DAT-IAT process,CASS process and MSBR process.
